Psychotherapy * Pastoral Care & Counseling * Women’s Support Group * Divorce Mediation

Psychotherapy: Our focus is on developing an open, healthy, and trusting relationship between the psychotherapist and client. We talk about where you are now, where you hope to be, why you might be struggling with things, and how insight into yourself and your history might help you get to where you want to be. Our work is informed by psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theoriesfamily systems frameworksinternal family systems teachingsImago relationship models, and the Gottman method. Pastoral Care & Counseling: This can take many forms, but at Lotus & Phoenix there is a focus on empathy, healing, and supporting those who are trying to work through a difficult problem. Unlike some forms of pastoral care & counseling, our goal is not to encourage a particular set of beliefs, but rather to accompany people as they try to figure out who they are, what they believe, and how they can create the sort of life they are longing for. This approach takes seriously the role of faith and spirituality in our healing and growth.*

Women’s Psychotherapy Support Group: We meet in-person on Mondays from 7:00pm-8:15pm in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Cost is $40/session, with a commitment of six weeks at a time. This is for women who are in, or who have been, in psychotherapy. There are limited spots.*

Divorce and Custody Mediation: Divorce, custody issues, and ending relationships can be one of the most difficult things that we face. Unfortunately, the court system in the United States is not well-suited to supporting parents, children, and individuals who are facing divorce, separation, and the end of a relationship. If you are facing divorce or custody issues where you’d like to come to shared agreement without relying only on attorneys or the court system, mediation can be a helpful approach. *Please note that we do not diagnose or treat mental illness. We prefer to focus on a more holistic view of self and relationships that does not reply on medical models and symptom checklists to understand or explain the complexity of humans. We are happy to refer you to a licensed mental health care provider if a specific diagnosis is important to you. We have many great colleagues in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, Washington, DC, and Tennessee to which we can refer with confidence.
